Positive experiences with SpotStrø
In 2019, Bopil supplied a SportStrø system to co-owner Torben Poulsen’s own farm, Klaptoft A/S, where Torben Poulsen wanted an automatic bedding solution for his gestation barn housing 3,000 sows.
With its built-in bale shredder, the system is capable of using straw from the farm’s own fields. With three daily bedding intervals in the five gestation barns, Torben can precisely specify which pens he wants straw in, as well as the amount.
The lakes respond to regular feeding
When it came to feeding straw—three times a day—the farm wanted to do so on a regular basis. The sows at Klaptoft Svineproduktion have quickly taken to this new feeding routine.
In addition to the clear benefits for the sows’ nutrition and well-being, the automatic straw distribution ensures that the sows always have access to the legally required bedding material.
Prima Pork
After gaining positive experience with the technology in the straw distribution system, Bopil was selected to also supply a SpotStrø for the new facility, which began operations in the summer of 2020. The straw distribution system supplies straw to the large gestation barn and the farrowing section.
