Bopil BIAS Test Station

Bopil Individual Testing Station

The BoPil Individual Weighing Station is the most accurate and reliable station in the test. The station, which features a fully rust-proof design, weighs animals with an accuracy of up to 100 grams.

In addition, BIAS measures feed intake down to 3 grams +/-. A special training program effectively helps the pigs get started before the trial begins. BIAS is also available with the pig feeder.

The BIAS feeding station features a well-designed hygiene and maintenance system that makes it easy to access the station. The pigs quickly learn to eat at the stations thanks to the built-in, illuminated feeding trough area.

Using BIAS FarmManager, you can control all the station’s functions, monitor feeding schedules, and enter all the data required for automatic feeding.

Online management and monitoring provide a complete overview of all animals’ feed intake, weight, and behavior in real time, directly from a computer or tablet.

Easy-to-use touchscreen controls make it simple to adjust feeding programs and retrieve reports directly at the station in the barn.

BIAS feeds the animals ad libitum or on a restricted basis, depending on the experimental design. The station is designed for long-term operation with minimal maintenance.

Each control panel is equipped with a safety backup system that ensures the station always operates correctly, even in the event of a power failure.

Peter Kejser at Sølvbakkegård uses BIAS for daily health monitoring. Animals that have not eaten normally are automatically flagged in the system.

BIAS provides accurate records of feed intake and weight gain for each individual animal, which is essential for reliable testing results.

BIAS at Sølvbakkegård

At Øster Stokholm in Lemvig, they have had great success keeping the sows in perfect condition. This is achieved, in part, through effective management and oversight via the feeding computer, which allows them to monitor all the sows every day.

“We can check to see if any of the pigs haven’t eaten in a day. If that’s the case, we know there might be something wrong with that pig.”

“We take out the list every morning, and then we walk around to check if anything is wrong with any of the animals. It gives us a hands-on sense of how things are going in the barn.”
